She welcomed her first child with boyfriend Bradley Wright at the end of April.
And now Amy Childs has admitted she is ‘totally overwhelmed’ by the arrival of her daughter after enduring a gruelling 27 hour labour.
The former TOWIE star, 26, has now revealed details of the birth, recalling it as ‘bl**dy painful’ to her fans.
Taking to her column with new! magazine, Amy revealed she has been overcome with emotion after becoming a mother for the first time.
She penned: ‘I’ve spent the last few days in total shock, I feel totally overwhelmed.’
Speaking about her little girl, the reality star gushed: ‘I keep looking at her and crying, I just can’t believe she’s mine!’
Although, she did admit that she struggled when it came to giving birth to the tot, as her labour had lasted ’27 hours’ and she found herself giving in after previously planning not to have any pain relief.
She revealed: ‘I had to have an epidural in the end as it was all too much… I had to have two stitches.’
The Essex native also revealed that she and her beau Brad are still yet to name their daughter, but they do have a name in mind that they ‘really like’.
Following the arrival of her baby girl, Amy has revealed she is planning to follow in the footsteps of many of her fellow celebrities – including Rochelle Humes and Coleen Rooney – and eat her placenta.
The starlet has had her placenta turned into capsule form for her to take every day.
Making a second use out of it, Amy explained – via a snap of her Planceta plus products that she shared to Instagram – that her placenta has been unusually transformed into a face cream for her to use too.
Benefits attached to the uses of a woman’s placenta after birth are claimed to include a ‘faster recovery’ and ‘increased energy levels.
As well as hoping to reap the rewards of her placenta products, Amy is already actively pursuing her pre-pregnancy figure – judging by her latest Instagram posts.
It’s been just a week since she welcomed her bundle of joy into the world, yet Amy has already been seen plugging slimming shakes on the photo-sharing site.
Far from attracting would-be dieters to the brand in question (Body Shape Fit Vanilla), the former TOWIE star simply received negative remarks from her followers about the dangers of dieting while breastfeeding as she posted a picture of her sat at her kitchen table brandishing a milkshake bottle.
‘Shakes should never substitute your meals that’s not what they are for. Did you seek advice if breastfeeding?’ came one comment.
‘Bit too soon to worry about substituting your meals, your beautiful body and you have been through so much. Give it lots of nourishment and love!’ a second person remarked.
A third wrote: ‘Oh so you’re drinking shakes while breastfeeding! Wow that’s safe!! Nice endorsement!’
Echoed by a fourth: ‘Surely not best after just having a baby. Body needs time to recover!’
Another asked: ‘Should she be drinking that while breastfeeding?’
‘Totally agree – after having a baby you need as much energy as you can and should eat proper meals especially if feeding – plus you are stunning!’ argued another.
Others were more distracted by the reality star’s back garden, with one company posting: ‘Hey Amy, your patio needs to be pressure washed. Contact us please!’
Amy, 26, was sure to lay the sales pitch on thick as she posted the photo, captioning it: ‘OMG! I have such a busy lifestyle and don’t have much time for a nutritious breakfast or lunch. So I decided to get the Body Shape product ‘Fit Vanilla’ to substitute my lunch.
‘It’s so easy to prepare and I’m not too full after! Try taking the shaker when on the go, it’s brilliant! So healthy and delicious!’
This flies in the face of the NHS advice on breastfeeding as a new mother.
Far from skipping meals, they encourage a balance diet, and suggest eating more in the way of snacks, not less.
Their website suggests fresh fruit, yoghurts and fromage frais, hummus with vegetable sticks, dried apricots, figs or prunes and unsweetened fruit juice.
Amy shared a snap of her little girl’s hand on Sunday evening, after announcing she had welcomed a ‘perfect little girl’ to her Twitter followers and confirmed to OK! Online that she’d had the baby.
On Twitter, she wrote: ‘Welcome to the world my beautiful daughter.’
When the former TOWIE star announced her pregnancy to the magazine in October, she revealed she was ‘shocked but happy’ as she did not think she could get pregnant.
Amy and Bradley, who met in a pub in Essex two years ago, had been trying for a baby for some time before their efforts were put on hold when Bradley was sentenced to 16 months in prison for handling stolen goods.
However the jailbird, who is already father to daughter Lexi from a previous relationship, only served five months of his sentence as he was released early for good behaviour leading to their eventual reunion.
‘We’d been together for nine months and I came off the pill in the summer and I thought it might take me ages. I was taking folic acid but it didn’t happen. I was really panicking.
‘I went online to find out why and it was the worst thing I could have done. I got so stressed out about it that I was drinking. Brad told me off for it but I couldn’t help it.’
Amy, who soared to fame in TOWIE’s 2010 inauguration, spoke of their desperation to start a family as she said: ‘We wanted kids together soon after we met.
‘I love kids, especially because Bradley has Lexi, and spending time with her made me want a baby more. I have a big family so I love having my nieces and nephews around.’
Amy told the magazine: ‘We’ve wanted a baby for so long, so we’re happier than we’ve ever been. We were both so shocked, so emotional and so happy at the same time.’
