What future mothers should eat in each trimester of pregnancy?
- 1st Trimester – Green vegetables, eggs, meat and bananas.
Spinach and kale are loaded with folic acid and iron. Folic acid is especially important for the formation of the neural tube in the fetus. Eggs and meat are a treasure trove of protein, while the banana perfect source of potassium, vitamin C and B6, rich with fiber and an excellent anti-nausea.
- 2nd Trimester – Cheese, eggs and avocado
Cheese is rich in calcium and protein, eggs contain choline, an ingredient that “feed” the brain, while avocado encourages the development of brain tissue, and thanks to the wealth of fiber and vitamin B6 also solves the problem of nausea.
- 3thTrimester – salmon, artichokes, nuts
Salmon is an important source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and beneficial for the brain and visual development at babies. Artichokes have a lot of fiber and iron. Lastly, nuts are very nutritious and rich in protein, and thereby are easily digested.
